About

Future (born Nayvadius DeMun Wilburn) is a Grammy-winning rapper and songwriter known for shaping modern trap music with his melodic delivery and introspective lyrics. Born in Atlanta, Georgia, Future grew up surrounded by music and was influenced by his cousin Rico Wade, a member of the Dungeon Family collective. He attended Columbia High School and went on to pursue music full time.

He began recording under the name Meathead before adopting the moniker Future and releasing a series of mixtapes that gained traction in Atlanta’s hip-hop scene. His breakthrough came in the early 2010s after signing with Epic Records and collaborating with artists like Drake. His 2012 debut album Pluto marked his rise to mainstream success and established him as a dominant force in rap.

Future went on to release a string of chart-topping albums including DS2 (2015), EVOL (2016), Future (2017), Hndrxx (2017) and I Never Liked You (2022). Known for hits like “Mask Off,” he has earned multiple Grammy nominations and, in 2019, he won the Grammy for Best Rap Performance for “King’s Dead.”

Future was previously engaged to singer Ciara, with whom he shares son Future Zahir. He has six other children: Jakobi, Londyn, Prince, Hendrix, Paris and Kash.

He was previously romantically linked to Lori Harvey.
